I've been working in the disability sector for over 40 years and although there have been plenty of 'highs', there has also been a lot of frustration, My main frustration surrounds how people with complex communication needs cannot rely on their support staff having adequate knowledge and skill in non-speech communication and conversation strategies. I am so pleased that this five tiered online training is getting great feedback from support staff, families and therapists. Maybe one day, getting a good communication partner won't be like a lottery....
